- <p> Without Dan Quayle to label all of show business culturally
- elite, movie moguls must compete for the honor. Studios already
- dashing to develop Edith Wharton novels are now jumping on a
- curious Jackson Pollock bandwagon. There are plans for three
- movies that will chronicle the life of America's pioneer Abstract
- Expressionist. "His whole life was cinematic," explains ED HARRIS,
- who is starring in one of the biopics. "Even the way he came
- to paint on the floor is cinematic." Robert De Niro and Barbra
- Streisand are planning a version, and another is in development
- for Al Pacino. Stay tuned in the months ahead for a trio of
- TV movies on Marcel Duchamp.
